A week of unique learning experiences abroad—FEU Diliman delegates have successfully completed the first cohort of their five-day cultural exchange and educational tour in partnership with National Tainan Chia-Chi Senior High School in Taiwan.

The program opened with a formal welcome at Kaohsiung Airport, where host teachers from National Tainan Chia-Chi SHS cordially received the delegation, setting the tone for a structured and meaningful exchange.

Upon arrival in Tainan, Tamaraws were warmly ushered into the campus with a welcome ceremony, cultural gift-giving, and classroom interactions with Taiwanese students. The opening segment of the program also showcased a series of cultural presentations where students from both countries expressed their traditions through music and dance performances.

Beyond the classroom, the Tamaraws from FEU Diliman, along with their  National Tainan Chia-Chi SHS buddies, also engaged in cultural and ecological exploration across Tainan, visiting key heritage sites such as Anping Old Fort, Tianhou Temple, the Zeelandia Museum, and Taijiang National Park. Activities including an eco-cruise, birdwatching, fishing demonstrations, and oyster farm exposure provided insights into Taiwan’s coastal heritage and sustainable livelihoods.

The students then visited prominent cultural landmarks such as the Confucius Temple, the National Museum of Taiwan Literature, and the Hayashi Department Store. Meanwhile, they also engaged in hands-on activities through various student club immersion workshops, such as a street task challenge, a table tennis competition, and Science-themed games.

One of the highlights of the program was the beverage-making workshop, where students were taught how to craft their own Taiwanese milk tea. This interactive experience allowed the delegates to take part in a meaningful aspect of Taiwan’s food culture firsthand while creating fun memories with their newfound friends.

The immersion also included an Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Game Design learning session, introducing students to emerging technologies and digital innovation.

Visiting Tamaraws then travelled briefly to Kaohsiung, exploring major cultural and modern landmarks including the Pier-2 Art Center, SKM Theme Park, and the Dome of Light at Formosa Boulevard Station.

The week-long exchange culminated in a farewell ceremony and tea party on campus. A total of 32 FEU Diliman delegates participated in the program, gaining unique and memorable experiences from campus immersion to cultural and educational tours across Tainan and Kaohsiung.

Before flying back home, the FEU Diliman Tamaraws toured the immediate locale for the last time to shop for souvenirs and reflect on their international learning journey. This cultural exchange and educational tour with National Tainan Chia-Chi Senior High School reinforced the value of global education and intercultural understanding, as well as FEU Diliman’s strong commitment to its international academic partners.
